2024 - OAK BAY wins their 9th consecutive Island championship and their 29th overall. The Bays came into the Islands as South #2, and the #2 team in BC, behind Spectrum, the #1 team in BC. The final and the 3rd place game had to be moved from Oak Bay's gym to UVIC's CARSA gym and it was a near sell-out. Oak Bay completed the upset 79-66. Oak Bay's Toren Franklin was named Island MVP while Spectrum's Tyler Felt got back-to-back best defensive player. Spectrum survived a challenge game, 100-52, by Belmont for the 2nd BC berth. Spectrum would go on to win their first ever BC Championship, 92-72, over Tamanawis. 2023 - Oak Bay extends their record run for Island Championships (8th) led by back-to-back Island MVP Griffin Arnatt. The Bays absolutely dismantled the over matched Claremont Spartans 94-58 in the final. Spectrum led the Island's best defensive player, Tyler Felt, beat Belmont for 3rd and challenged Claremont for the 2nd Island BC berth but fell 75-67. 2022 - Oak Bay continues their domination with their 7th consecutive Island Championship, and record setting 26th overall, with a 78-69 win over Claremont. The Bays were led by MVP Griffin Arnatt. The Bays upset tournament favourite Claremont, that had been the #1 ranked 4A team on the Island since the start of the season, 73-69. Lucas Maffia follows up his brother's back-to-back Island MVP's with one of his own. The Maffia brothers are only the 2nd set of brothers to win back-to-back MVP's behind Steve ('92) and Martin ('93) Nash. Oak Bay's Ethan Moore earns the Best Defensive Player award. 2018 - Oak Bay extends their record to 23 Island titles, and current streak of four in a row, with a comfortable 105-56 win over Belmont. Oak Bay was led by junior guard and Island MVP Diego Maffia. Cowichan finished 3rd over Dover Bay and then challenged Belmont for the 2nd Island berth but fell short with an 86-54 Belmont victory. 2017 - Oak Bay star guard Jaden Touchie earns both the MVP and Best Defensive Player awards as his Bays dominate yet another Island title extending their own record to 22 Island Championships, and current streak of three in a row. Belmont was down big early in the first but was able to battle back in the second to make it close but Oak Bay just kept rolling and cruised to an 83-64 victory. 2010 - Oak Bay earn their 18th Island title with an 80-72 win over Dover Bay with Oak Bay's Reese Pribilsky as the MVP. Cowichan beat Stelly's 74-70 for 3rd in the 'fastest' half in recent memory. 2009 - Dover Bay, for the second time in two years, wins the Island title. The final, for the seventh straight year, goes down to the wire as Dover Bay (N2) beats league rival Cowichan (N1) 45-40 in overtime. After final game, Dover Coach Mark Simpson is heard musing, and with a smile on his face, 'we set Island basketball back 30 years with this one.'
