GAME 8

by Harvey Thorau (VICTORIA)  Ucluelet won easily 70-37.  While this game was relatively evenly matched in terms of athleticism, the Warriors from Ucluelet proved to be the team with the most fire power from the outside as well as the inside.  Leo Torres Clark was named player of the game for his stellar ball handling abilities and his calming leadership on the floor.  Ucluelet is 3rd while Campbell River Christian is 4th on the Island.

GAME 9

by Harvey Thorau (VICTORIA)  Even though it was a matinee game, the crowd was into it.  Both teams clashed on the boards and tested each other.  Duncan Christian went out to a 14 to 7 lead at the quarter, but that was cut to only four points at the half.  Glenlyon Norfolk came storming back in the 3rd quarter and went up 40 to 31.  The fourth quarter saw a series of runs with GNS having to resort to the foul game at the end.  There were two chances at a 3-pointer for the Gryphons, but time ran out just after the second shot hit the left side of the rim.  Duncan Christian holds on for a 54-52 win and the Island title.
