GAME 1

by Harvey Thorau [VICTORIA]  As host, Glenlyon Norfolk had a significant crowd behind them and led wire to wire.  Bryce Starling for St. Andrew's, worked hard to keep his side in the mix, but the defense and size of GNS won out in the end.  Adam Kwasny ended up with 19 points for GNS and Amirali Hassani finished with a season high of 14.

PLAYER OF THE GAME - Amirali Hassani (Glenlyon Norfolk)

GAME 2

by Harvey Thorau [VICTORIA]  Overmatched, outsized, outgunned... Dwight Canada did not have much of a chance against Duncan Christian as the game was not in doubt seemingly from the outset.  Douglas Groenendjk of DCS was game high with 26 points.  He rebounded like a demon and threw down a number of thunderous dunks.

GAME 3

by  Harvey Thorau [VICTORIA]  While the score was close for a while, the visiting Warriors from Ucluelet employed a fast break offense to build and then pad a lead.  The half time score was 49-17 with the final score coming in at 76-36  in favour of the Warriors.  Ucluelet will now face the host, Glenlyon Norfolk, in the last game of pool play - the winner will go to the finals and qualify for Provincials in Langley.

GAME 4

by  Harvey Thorau [VICTORIA]  In the tightest game of the tournament, so far, Campbell River Christian jumped out to a slight to an 16-11 lead after the first quarter and they pushed it to 28-19 at the half.  Dwight Canada started to penetrate better and they hit some medium range jumpers in the 3rd and the lead was four at 46-42 after three.  The final quarter was a seesaw affair with  CRCS coming out on top with a score of 72-60.

In placing 3rd in their pool, Dwight Canada will play for 5th/6th tomorrow morning against the St Andrew's Sabres.

PLAYER OF THE GAME - Chris Parker (Campbell River Christian)

GAME 5

by Harvey Thorau [VICTORIA]  The Gryphons of Glenlyon Norfolk came out of the gate like a juggernaught and at one point, the lead was 23-3.  But... the Warriors were not about to lay down and die.  Ucluelet dug their way out of that huge early hole to be down by only one at the half.  A third quarter push by the Gryphons saw another lead develop, but the sweet 3-point shooting of William Tom clawed back the lead.  Glenlyon Norfolk's 10-point third quarter lead was extended slightly and in the end, the Gryphons rode the defensive prowess of Adam Darcie and the shooting touch of Adam Kwasny to victory.  The Gryphons punch the first Island ticket to the provincial tournament in Langley.
