DIAMOND HEAD CLASSIC

(Honolulu, Hawai’i)  Game 4 of the Diamond Head Classic will see Miami [FL] (7-1) playing the hosts, the University of Hawai'i (5-3).  Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. HST on Saturday December 22, 2012.

 

Manroop Clair from Vancouver BC is playing for the University of Hawai'i.  So far this season he's played in seven of Hawai'i's eight games.  Clair has 47 minutes of playing time putting him ninth on the team.  He's 4-11 from the field going 2-8 from the behind the arc.

 

Defense is the name of the game as at the half it's Miami holding a 1-point lead at 22-21.

 

Both teams seem very evenly matched.  Easy buckets are hard to come by as both teams are playing some pretty tough, physical, defense.

 

Miami opened the 2nd half with 6-0 run forcing Hawai'i to call a time-out to try to break the momentum.

 

Hawai'i comes out of the time-out and promptly drains a 3-pointer.

 

Miami answer with a several quick buckets.

 

Manroop Clair enters the game just over five minutes into the 2nd half.

 

Teams start to trade buckets including some from downtown.

 

The game has changed completely from the tough, physical first half to high tempo transition game with bombs being dropped all over the place.

 

11:04 - TV time-out - Miami has blown the game wide open and lead 53-37.  Miami, in just under nine minutes, is 12-16 for 75% in the 2nd half.

 

Hawai'i is not getting any easy buckets has Miami isn't giving and inch.  At the other end Miami seems to be shooting at a hula hoop as they aren't missing.

 

7:53 - TV time-out - Miami firmly in control of the game.  Clair is still in the game for Hawai'i.

 

Clair with a great save as the ball was going out of bounds.

 

Miami is working as team... Hawai'i is not... and it's showing on the scoreboard.

Clair subs out after putting in over 10 minutes of playing time.
