DIAMOND HEAD CLASSIC

December 22-25, 2012

(Honolulu, Hawai’i)  Game 3 of the Diamond Head Classic will see Arizona (9-0) playing East Tennessee State (2-7).  Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. HST on Saturday December 22, 2012.

Arizona starts out hot... REALLY HOT... up 25-8 and it's not even 9-minutes into the game.

Beautiful 360 dunk by Arizona's Nick Johnson has been a highlight of the first half.

7:25 to go in the first half - that's when state got their 10th point of the game.

TV timeout was called with just over 11 minutes to go in the first half...  Arizona went to the line with 6:16 to go in the half... that's about five minutes and Arizona hadn't scored.  It in fact was 2-0 for State in during that period.

First half comes to an end with Arizona showing they are full value for their #4 national ranking as they hold a 38-17 lead.

State's 17-point output sets a tournament record for least points scored in the first half.  The old record was 18 by USC.

In the 2nd half State is causing Arizona some grief with their extended 2-3 zone defense.

It was cruise control and the final was 73-53 for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats got contributions from 10 different players in the easy win.

Arizona is going to be VERY TOUGH to beat in this event.

Final score:  AZ 73-53 ETS

Arizona:

Brandon Ashley - 16

East Tennessee State:

Jarvis Jones - 21
